Sometimes museum gives out free admissions on special events. M.H. de Young Museum in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park has a collection on International Contemporary art. There are two exhibits that caught my attention. The first is Gottfried Helnwein’s Epiphany II. The painting is 210 cm x 310 cm long. Gottfried Helnwein is an Austrian-Irish painter, installation and performance artist.

|In the same room is Anti-Mass (close-up of charred pieces in the photo above), an installation by Cornelia Parker who is an English sculptor and installation artist. The “Anti-Mass” are charcoal pieces from an African American Baptist Church destroyed by arsonists. The pieces are suspended, seemingly defying gravity.|
|It is good to visit museums and galleries to get inspired by artists’ work.|
Wow. What exactly am I looking at?
